Are you wondering or concerned about complying with SB 1383? Do you want to learn about how to set up organics collection and address contamination?  Please join CRRA Technical Council CORC (California Organics Recycling Council) in a one-hour deep dive conversation about a variety of organics collection options. This topic lunch, the first in a series this year, will include a high level overview of programs being implemented followed by a choice of breakout discussion groups to ask questions and engage on specific organics collection topics and jurisdiction examples including:

  1. Stopwaste on Alameda Co. organic collection options, and Waste Management on their collection camera technology to address contamination;
  2. American Refuse/Tule Trash companies on their Kern/Kings/Tulare Cos. rural/small city residential and commercial organics collection, and Marin Co. small/medium city source separated food scraps to digestion program;
  3. San Francisco on their mandatory curbside collection including split carts and monitoring, and Sunnyvale on their single family and multi-family split cart with source-separated food-only program; and
  4. San Jose on their single and multi-family program and commercial wet dry collection system with mixed waste processing, and South San Francisco Scavenger on the limits of mixed waste processing and benefits of city/hauler cooperative outreach.
